Number 4: Requiring So Much

Requiring so much
and yet it could never be enough
to love your God
foremost, forever, in the fullness thereof

But despite this simply put command
there is one more demand
to love your neighbor
him, too?

All the words they say and have said to you
culminate in these two aforesaid mandates
the we not only worship
but for our fellow man advocate
and love and pursue
until our days our through.

Q & A 4

Q. What does God’s law require of us?

A. Christ teaches us this in summary in Matthew 22:37-40:

“‘You shall love the Lord your God
with all your heart,
and with all your soul,
and with all your mind.’1
This is the greatest and first commandment.

“And a second is like it:
‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’2

“On these two commandments hang
all the law and the prophets.”

2 Lev. 19:18
