The Intonation Battle

Intonation is the most difficult technique to master on the violin, simple because you never do completely “master” it.  Intonation is something that I practice and need to continually practice on a regular basis. I challenge my students in this area in every lesson and I try to help them develop their ear so that they can hear when they are in and out of tune while they are practicing at home. Kate Little writes a really helpful blog post on this topic and gives some very practical practice advice for students as they attempt to play in tune. Please check out her post and maybe try out a few of her helpful suggestions. You may begin to sound like Hilary Hahn before you know it! 🙂
